Rapid Repair Handyman completed interior drywall reconstruction and baseboard work following water damage at a home in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. The project photos show the lower wall opened beneath a window, the baseboard removed during the repair, and the reconstructed wall and trim area.
Reconstruction After the Exterior Water Source Was Corrected
The water source had already been corrected from the exterior before Rapid Repair’s reconstruction work. Our scope focused on restoring the affected interior wall and baseboard area. Correcting the source and rebuilding the interior are separate parts of a water-damage project; this example documents the interior reconstruction.
What Our Interior Repair Scope Included
- Insulation work in the affected wall area.
- Drywall reconstruction beneath the window.
- Texture work to blend the repaired area with the surrounding wall.
- Priming and painting as part of the repair scope.
- Baseboard work along the repaired lower wall.
This was more than closing a drywall opening. Insulation, wall finish, primer, paint and the baseboards all formed part of the same reconstruction scope. The work met the existing finishes around the windows, inside corner and adjacent cabinetry.
Why the Baseboard Was Part of the Wall Repair
The baseboard runs across the bottom of the affected wall. The in-progress photos show it removed while the lower wall area was exposed. The finished photo shows the baseboard back along the wall and around the corner, completing the transition between the repaired wall and the existing floor.
For a comparable repair, a close-up of the existing baseboard profile and a wider room photo help identify the trim and how it meets nearby corners, cabinets and doorways. Include those details with the drywall photos so both parts can be reviewed together.
Drywall and Baseboards Repaired Together
Baseboards are the trim along the bottom of a wall. On this project, the drywall repair and baseboard work addressed the same interior area beneath the windows and beside existing cabinetry. The photos document the work in progress and the finished wall and baseboard area.

Planning Repairs After Water Damage
For a similar inquiry, tell us whether the leak or other moisture source has been corrected and whether drying or other preparation has been completed. Reconstruction is planned after the source is addressed and the affected area is ready. The drywall, trim, surrounding materials and finish requirements determine the repair scope.
Send room-wide photos, close-ups of damaged areas, approximate dimensions, your city and details of any prior removal. Let us know whether the request includes drywall closure, texture, baseboards, primer or paint so those items can be defined in the proposal.
Include your target completion date and whether the home is occupied. If a property manager or another contractor is coordinating the reconstruction, identify the person who approves the scope and arranges access.
Our minimum service/assessment charge is $185. Final reconstruction pricing depends on the affected area, materials, finish work and existing conditions.
