This Vista bathroom remodel started with an older bathroom that needed a full update. Once demolition began, hidden issues were uncovered and corrected before rebuilding, which is common in many older homes throughout Vista.
Bathroom Remodeling Process
Before demolition, the home was protected with Ram Board over the luxury vinyl plank flooring. Plastic barriers were installed to control dust, along with a contained walkway to the front door to keep the rest of the house clean.
The demolition phase included removal of the tub, vanity, sink, medicine cabinet, light fixtures, and toilet. After removing the tile, hidden damage beneath the tub was discovered and properly addressed before moving forward.
Electrical work was completed in advance to support a bidet installation. New lighting was installed above the shower, along with a new exhaust fan to improve ventilation and moisture control.
After waterproofing, a new tub was installed along with new wall tile and floor tile. The drywall was skim coated to a semi-smooth finish, sanded, and prepared for paint, with fans used to support drying and curing.
